Artistic Safari: In the land of Lynx
23 th and 24th January 2016.
The event takes place the weekend 23 th and 24 th January 2016, in the heart mating season of the Iberian lynx and one of the moments when Sierra Morena looks at its best.
The main objective of the Artistic Safari will be observing and taking notes of Wildlife and landscapes of Sierra Morena, with special emphasis on the figure of the Iberian lynx.
Interpretative routes will be made to search for trails and tracks that allow detecting the presence of lynx, through the strategic locations of the territories and in the tutelage of the local guides, exploiting knowledge of the vast and rich wildlife and landscape of the Natural Park Sierra de Andújar, for making notes from life in notebook field through the techniques most suitable for this (graphite, ink drawing and painting, watercolors ...).
You do not need previous knowledge in drawing or painting, since the unique experience of enjoying the wild nature of the Iberian Peninsula, joins the guide and teacher tutoring expert naturalist illustration Diego Ortega Alonso, which will give participants the keys to be unforgettable in the form of nature notes in field notebook.
In the sessions topics such as note-taking natural, making quick notes, light and color, and development work around the notes taken they were discussed. In addition, thanks to the knowledge of the land of Francisco Martin, a biologist specializing in biodiversity conservation and interpreter guide Iberus Birding Nature, collaborator of the Ministry of environment on Wildlife and Network Spaces Protected of Andalusia, attendees see shelled the secrets hiding the Sierra de Andújar.
There are two types of access to the safari:
- Mode 1: Artistic Safari with guides on private property: € 195 / person
- Mode 2: Artistic Safari with guides in private property estate, accommodation 1 night and meals, (Saturday and Sunday): € 295 / person
- Special Offer: includes Artistic Safari with guides on private property + accommodation on Friday and Saturday, with Full board, ideal for travelers distant 350 € / person.
The 10% of the amount of entries in the artistic Safari, will go to the Projects Iberian Lynx Conservation carried out by the Iberian Society for the Study and Conservation of Ecosystems (SIECE) and stewardship, whose actions include improving the rabbit population in private estates, through the creation of artificial warrens troughs, etc. as well as rabbit releasing actions in areas of lynx presence.
Artistic Safari includes entry to farms, optical equipment (Swarovski telescope), off-road transportation, travel insurance, and 10% contribution to the project of conservation of the Iberian lynx with SIECE. Materials (field notebook, pencils, watercolors, pencils...) should be worn by workers, although available to anyone who wants a basic toolkit to share from the organization.
Recommended materials: 1 2b pencil, watercolor 1 kit (type Winsor & Newton, Schmincke, etc.), field notebook or notepad watercolor type (for example, type Hahnemühle or Moleskine brand), round brush (ej Nº. 10), or rechargeable brush water (Pentel type).
It is recommended to wear suitable clothing and footwear to the possibility of inclement weather, given the time to celebrate the Artistic Safari.
